Phase 1 at Glass Bottle has been granted planning permission by Dublin City Council under the approved Poolbeg West Strategic Development Zone Planning Scheme. With the creation of 570 new homes in the heart of Dublin City, the plans will see the construction of 63,160 sqm. of mixed residential and commercial development along with best-in-class public amenities.
The initiative will deliver a mixed tenure neighbourhood, as along with the privately owned and build to rent element, one quarter of all units delivered will be allocated to social and affordable homes.
Located at the former Irish Glass Bottle factory, this planning grant represents the first step towards realising the development of the entire Glass Bottle site. With construction likely to commence soon, this represents a unique opportunity to revitalise a former industrial area of the south inner city and provide thousands of much-needed housing units in Dublin.
