Lioncor are delighted to have signed up to the CIF’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programme. Over the last 20 years the make-up of the Irish workforce has changed with more diversion across the board. However, according to a recent CIF report the construction sector in Ireland continues to be male dominated, with the average percentage of men working in member companies estimated at 89% compared to just 11% of women. When looking at other dimensions of diversity including age, ethnicity, sexual orientation etc. under-representation is a common symptom across the construction sector, not only in Ireland but in most countries.
A greater focus on equality, diversity and inclusion leads to a fairer workplace with better participation rates and ultimately better business performance. We look forward to our journey to ensure our business is a true reflection of the society we live in.
