The development site is located 1.5km to the north west of Cobh town centre. Cobh itself is well known as one of Ireland's finest natural harbours and has become a thriving tourist location with its links to the infamous Titanic & Lusitania. The site itself is serviced by an excellent bus service to Cobh, Carrigaloe and Cork City centre which sits approximately 25 km to the north of the town. Cork City is also accessible by train from Cobh.

The new homes at Cluain Ard were designed by Deady Gahan Architects and will consist of 237 units, high quality open spaces and well planned pedestrian and cycle paths. This development will form a new attractive identity for the immediate area. There will be a mix of house types within the development including 183 houses and 54 apartments and duplex homes.
